In 1985, UNITED PERLITE CORPORATION (UPC) took over the operations from Trinity Lodge Mining Corporation, a perlite pioneering company who in 1968 established the first perlite manufacturing plant in the Philippines. It was also during this time that we first introduced the Philippine made perlite filter aid into the sugar refineries, carageenan industry, coconut oil processors and the pineapple processing , etc. The Philippine made perlite filter aid is comparable with imported brands at lesser cost. Presently, the concession is the only biggest known high-grade perlite ore deposit in the Philippines.
